Dealing with Emotional Pain on the Road to Healing in Your Life

All too often when we are wounded by the words or actions of others, emotional pain and injury to the heart (where we feel emotion the deepest) occurs. We tend to stuff those pains and injuries deep into our heart, in places that any human will seldom find ever again, and we work to overcome the offense the best we can through our human reasoning and often times ungodly – indeed, godless – methods that do not at all consider the supernatural healing power of G-d through His Holy Spirit, our Comforter and Healer.

As I thought about this all too familiar experience in peoples’ lives, the Lord spoke this word to me… The Lord would say to all those who struggle continually in life with emotional pain,…

“To you who are wounded and struggling to survive the pain associated with rejection, betrayal, and abandonment, and to go on with your life,  the healing will begin when you let Me into the secret place where you hide all your hurts, the pains to deep to explain, and the emptiness. If you want healing, you must look to Me, the Healer of your soul. I am He that you seek for your heart’s pain.  There is nothing that you will experience or that you have already experienced in rejection, betrayal, and abandonment that I have not experienced far greater in rejection, betrayal, and abandonment. I have known all of these pains, and I tell you that I know your pain. I have seen and I have heard your cries, and now I will take them from you and make you whole, I will make a new creation out of you.  Remember anytime the enemy brings back these horrible memories to you, think on good and lovely things and dismiss those which bring you anguish and pain says the Lord. If you do these things, I will renew your mind, and give you a new heart that is full of my glory.”

Here are scriptures that will encourage you or those you know who are struggling with emotional pain.

Jeremiah 30:17  “For I will restore health to you and heal you of your wounds, says the Lord.”

Psalm 118:17  “I shall not die but live and declare the works of the Lord.”

Proverbs 4:20-24  “My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart; For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh. Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life. And put away from you a deceitful mouth, and out perverse lips far from you.”

Psalms 126:5, 6  “Those who sow in tears Shall reap in joy. He who continually goes forth weeping, Bearing seed for sowing, Shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, Bringing his sheaves with him.”

Philippians 4:6-8   “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy – meditate on these things.”

John 3:16  “For God so loved the world that He sent His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

When we apply the Living Word of God to our broken lives and look wholly to Him for our every emotional need and to heal our broken hearts, He is faithful to do just that. If you are suffering loss, have ben hurt, abused, mistreated, cast away, abandoned, unjustly accused, or feeling the death grip of the ugliness of this world around your life, call out to God through the person of Jesus Christ.  He will be faithful to bring healing to your heart.

Romans 10:13  “Those who call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
